In 1903, the Wright Brothers made their first flight. That same year, William Boeing left Yale for the West. In 1910, while living in Seattle, he attended his first air meet and began his fascination with aviation. He and Navy engineer friend George Westervelt constructed their first twin float seaplane in Boeing's boathouse. In 1916, Boeing incorporated his company, and the rest is aviation history.
