Data for public degree- granting institutions for 1996-97 through 2000-01 are for current expenditures; later years are estimates of total expenditues. Excludes expenditures of postsecondary institutions that do not confer associate's or higher degrees. Data for 1995-96 and later years are for 4-year and 2-year degree-granting institutions that were eligible to participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs.
