INFORMATION MEMORANDUM
IM-08-07
DATE: Jun 6, 2008
TO: ALL STATE/TRIBAL IV-D DIRECTORS AND IV-A DIRECTORS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES
SUBJECT: IV-A/IV-D Interface and Data Exchange Report
ATTACHMENT: IV-A/IV-D Interface and Data Exchange: A Report of Survey Findings (167K MicroSoft Word Document)
BACKGROUND: This report highlights best practices and lessons learned regarding the exchange of case-related data between State Child Support Enforcement (CSE) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs. It inventories common data elements shared between the programs, and summarizes discussion topics and recommendations from a representative workgroup of Federal and State staff regarding improvements to electronic interfaces currently in place that facilitate data sharing. We hope you find this Report a useful resource in your efforts to improve cross-program collaboration.
Dear Colleague Letter 06-33 dated October 5, 2006 provides the data definitions and recommended transaction specifications for the 29 data elements recommended for CSE-TANF data exchange as cited in Action Transmittal 89-09. In addition, you may search for additional data elements, definitions, and recommended formats at OCSE's Data Standards Registry at: http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/.
INQUIRIES: Please contact Robin Rushton, Director, Division of State and Tribal Systems, at (202) 690-1244 or by email at rrushton@acf.hhs.gov.
