The House Government Reform Committee held a hearing entitled, "The National Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response Plan: Is the U.S. Ready for Avian Flu?" Michael Leavitt, Secretary of HHS, was accompanied by Drs. Anthony Fauci, Director, NIAID; Julie Gerberding, Director, CDC; Bruce Gellin, Director, National Vaccine Program Office; and William Raub, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Health Preparedness.
