Summary: This report describes Minnesota’s Diversionary Work Program (DWP), which is a four-month program that provides services and support to eligible families to help them move immediately to work rather than go on welfare. DWP is for families with children or pregnant women who meet the income eligibility test. All parents are expected to work. DWP services will help parents find work. Families may also be eligible for the food program, health care, and child care assistance while on DWP.
