Katherine Bradley is the Associate Director of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program in the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The TANF program is the nation’s principal welfare assistance program. 

Before joining ACF, Ms. Bradley spent 12 years serving in various positions for the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1996, she was Legislative Director to Congressman Jim Talent, who authored the TANF legislation, and in 2005, she participated in the  negotiation of the TANF reauthorization as part of the Deficit Reduction Act.  For eight years, she was a domestic policy adviser to former Speaker of the House J. Dennis Hastert. She advised him on issues ranging from welfare reform and education to housing and financial services.
