2005 Department of Energy Industrial Hygiene Award
("Don Ross Award")
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Department of Energy (DOE) Industrial Hygiene Coordinating Committee (IHCC), established
in 1992, serves as an efficient mechanism for communication and coordination of industrial
hygiene and related issues and activities across the DOE Complex. It provides input to
Departmental worker protection policy and the development of technical guidance, and promotes
industrial hygiene program excellence and professional development. The IHCC is an official
DOE Topical Committee under the DOE Technical Standards Program.
In support of this mission, the IHCC sponsors the annual DOE Industrial Hygiene Award -
also known as the "Don Ross Award", in honor of Dr. Ross' pioneering work and lifetime
accomplishments during his career with the AEC and DOE, and being the award's first recipient -
to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to worker health protection
programs within the DOE.
Eligibility for this award includes current and former employees of DOE, its predecessor
agencies, and DOE contractor organizations. The nomination form is available for downloading
or copying at: Nomination Form (Word) Nomination Form (Word).
Nominations for the 2005 award from within DOE Federal and contractor organizational
elements must be submitted electronically no later than September 30, 2005.
The IHCC Award Committee has reactivated nominations from 2000 through 2004, for eligibility
for the 2005 Award. Updates to prior nomination submissions may be submitted, if desired.
All submissions - new and updates - must be received by September 30, 2005, for consideration
for the 2005 IH Award.
