 African & Middle Eastern Division,
Collections and Services Directorate

The sites listed below and in all following sections have been chosen for their utility in providing accurate narrative (either brief or extensive) information, as well as directories and extensive portals concerning all aspects of Uzbek life and culture. They originate both in Uzbekistan and in various other countries. All of these sites are either English language alone or bilingual, unless noted in an annotation which follows. As the links to Uzbekistan, and the NIS countries in general, often are inactive, we recommend that you try again if you are not successful in connecting. The following general resources offer brief and extensive narratives on all aspects of Uzbekistan in general as well as a variety of extensive portal pages created both in and outside of Uzbekistan.
