This NCES website provides public access to education survey data collected by the U.S. Department of Education and to analysis reports about education policy issues. On this website you can
- create your own analysis tables and covariance analyses using the Data Analysis Systems (DAS) application,
- view/download thousands of analysis tables and the DAS programming files used to create them, and
- view the highlights of report findings, with figures and tables, for various topics written by researchers for NCES.
For example, a recent study of undergraduate students in 1999-2000 found that while a majority of undergraduates were younger than 24, one in four were 30 or older. You can

DAS Online 2.0 is now available for many data sets. New features include:
- Estimate covariance analyses, both weighted least squares and logistic regressions
- Continuous variables no longer have to be positive whole numbers
- More than one missing value code, called reserve codes can be defined (e.g., legitimate skip, unknown, refused, etc.)
- Automatic replacement of old
