Personal foul!

From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, I’m Ira Dreyfuss with HHS HealthBeat.

Four typical kids are loafing around somebody’s den, about as inactive as you can be without sleeping, when a cartoon NFL referee barges in, with three real-life professional football stars. And:

`` Personal foul! Inactive activities on a glorious day!” (4 seconds)

True, New Orleans Saint Reggie Bush, San Antonio Charger Antonio Gates, Dallas Cowboy Jason Whitten and cartoon characters don’t usually appear in somebody’s den. It’s a public service announcement from HHS, the NFL and the Ad Council.

But they’re talking about something real – kids need more physical activity. ``Be a Player. Get Up and Play, an Hour a Day.’’

To show you how easy it is, the kids play with the NFL  pros – chase, and other games kids know, like freeze tag.

Reggie Bush knows that game.
