Information

Finding the Public Lands: Because of the scattered nature of BLM-administrated public lands in the Folsom Field Office, it can be very difficult to know if one is on the public lands or on private property.  Some of the BLM parcels are marked with signs, but others are not.  Maps available from the BLM have Federal lands color-coded.  It is recommended that these maps be used in conjunction with other maps, for instance, a county road map, or a U.S. Geological Survey topographic map, to pin point one's location. If you have any questions, please contact the Folsom Field Office.

Access to Public Lands: Not all the parcels of public land in the Folsom Field Office have legal access. In some cases, adjacent private property owners have declined to allow public land visitors (including BLM staff) to cross their property. They are well within their legal rights to do so.

Public Participation: The public lands belong to the American People--all of them. The BLM only manages it, and is responsible to the people for its condition. We in the BLM are always interested to hear opinions, suggestions, or other comments on public land management. Some of the best ideas on what to do come from private citizens. We cannot promise anyone that we will follow their suggestions, but you have an iron-clad guarantee that we will listen and carefully consider what you may have to say. Please send us your feedback.
