Deputy Secretary Troy speaks on the Department’s efforts to promote innovation and help create an environment that encourages the development of new products while maintaining a rigorous approval process that ensures the safety of the American people.

Dr. Raynard Kington, Acting Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), highlights the role basic and clinical research conducted and supported by the NIH plays in the development of new products.

Dr. Rachel Behrman, Associate Commissioner for Clinical Programs and Director of the Office of Critical Path Programs at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), outlines FDA's efforts to use state-of-the-art science in support of medical product development, as well as to promote consistency and efficiency in medical product review.

Dr. Jeff Kelman, Chief Medical Officer of the Center for Beneficiary Choice at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) shares CMS’ perspective on the challenges innovators face in current reimbursement and coverage processes and how innovators can better navigate the system.

Jean Slutsky, Director of the Center for Outcomes and Evidence at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) discusses AHRQ’s role in promoting quality research and how this will benefit innovators.
