First Responders

NNSA's first responders include the Radiological Assistance Program (RAP) and the Search Response Team (SRT).   These teams provide specialized national-level first responder technical and operational capabilities, and conduct specialized operations, during the initial phases of a response to a radiological or nuclear incident in coordination with federal, state and local authorities.  The first responders conduct detection, identification, and analysis of radiological or nuclear materials.
