Oversight Hearing

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations (Representative Ed Whitfield [R-KY], Chairman) held a hearing entitled, “Human Tissue Research: NIH Policies and Practices.” Dr. Michael Gottesman, Deputy Director for Intramural Research, NIH, and Dr. Tom Insel, Director, NIMH testified for NIH. Dr. Insel was accompanied by Dr. Donald Rosenstein, Acting Clinical Director, NIMH, Dr. Suzanne Winfield, Technology Transfer Coordinator, NIMH; and William Fitzsimmons, Executive Officer, NIMH. Dr. Susan Molchan, NIA, Dr. Trey Sunderland, NIMH, and Karen Putnam, former NIMH employee, also testified.
