VFC -Nancy Fenlon
- VFC Operations Guide update review
Nancy highlighted the new borrowing guidance and the two required forms. New questions will be added to the VFC Management Survey in 2009 to capture these data. - VFC Management Survey Training
There is an upcoming training on January 24 from 2-4 pm (eastern) to review the details of the VFC Management Survey and how to complete the form. - Fraud and Abuse policy review plan
54 grantees have submitted their plans. Thank you! The policies are being reviewed in alphabetical order, and the hope is that at least 7 policies will be able to be used as examples of well-developed policies. Grantees can expect to hear from Nancy about their policy no later than April 1. - Newsflash: CDC-CMS Collaboration calls; VFC Site Visit Questionnaire
CDC is planning calls to regional Medicaid offices to encourage better collaboration between state and Medicaid offices. The first call is currently scheduled for January 29 from 3:00–4:30 pm (eastern) with CMS region 9.

- Nathan provided a brief update on what grantees can expect from CDC during site visits and in guidance that will come out at Vaccine University.

- CoCASA 3.1
- CoCASA 3.0 vs 3.1
The only difference between versions 3.0 and 3.1 is that 3.1 does not contain an extra table within the “Core Report.” - Need to create 2008 setup before able to enter site visits from 2007
Within CoCASA 3.0 or 3.1, it is necessary to setup the 2008 VFC Site Visit Questionnaire (Utilities – Set up VFC Questionnaire) BEFORE being able to enter any site visit data from visits done in 2007. - Qualitative visits missing on Core Report for 2007 visits
Currently, in CoCASA 3.0 and 3.1, the “Core Report” used to compile data for reporting back to CDC does not contain any information about the number of qualitative visits that were done in 2007. This is an error which will be corrected by a soon-to-be-released patch.

- Adolescent AFIX
- CDC is working on improving the ability of CoCASA to capture adolescent assessment data.
- CDC is also working on some recommended guidance for those doing adolescent AFIX. After consultation with interested grantees and with the VFC/AFIX Workgroup, this guidance will be sent to all grantees.
- Nathan asked that any grantees interested in providing input into the adolescent AFIX recommendations send him an email.

- Still tentatively May 27-30 in Baltimore. We understand that you need agenda and hotel information far in advance and we will get that information to you as soon as we have confirmation.
Q&A
If we download CoCASA 3.1, will we have any problems viewing data from CoCASA 2.1? Any data currently in CoCASA 2.1 will merge seamlessly into CoCASA 3.1. Also, you are able to import data from version 2.1 into version 3.0 and 3.1.
How many people, and who, should plan on attending Vaccine University? The three primary audiences for VU are 1) VFC coordinators, 2) AFIX coordinators, and 3) vaccine managers. Currently, CDC is estimating that 3 people may attend VU from each grantee. However, if you are interested in sending more, please send Nathan an email (ncrawford2@cdc.gov) and these will be taken on a case by case basis, depending on availability.
