Summary: This 2004 document by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services presents an emergency plan template for child care facilities. Plans should be developed considering three scenarios of evacuation: (1) in-place evacuation, (2) on-site evacuation, and (3) off-site evacuation. Emergencies procedures are outlined for fire, inclement weather, illness or injury, bomb threats, utilities and maintenance emergencies, and emergency evacuation.
