  • University of Toronto G8 Information Centre
    This website, hosted by the library at the University of Toronto, contains documents of the G8 meetings, including the May 6, 1999 statement on the "general principles on the political solution to the Kosovo crisis," and proposals on the "civilian aspects of the implementation of an interim peace settlement in Kosovo" dated June 10, 1999.

  • Allied Forces Southern Europe
    "Operation Allied Force is a NATO contingency response aiming at ensuring full compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1199 (Sept. 23rd 1998)." Air strikes began March 24, 1999 in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and ended June 10, 1999. The web site includes background information, images, map, transcripts, multimedia, and list of participating forces.
  • Operation Allied Harbour began April 16, 1999 "to provide humanitarian assistance in support of, and in close coordination with, the UNHCR and Albanian civil and military authorities, to alleviate the suffering of those who were forced to leave their homes in Kosovo and are now in Albania."
  • Operation Determined Guarantor, first begun "to conduct an extraction of OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission (KVM) Verifiers and/or Persons with Designated Special Status in Kosovo in order to assure their safety," now is "engaged in providing support to humanitarian assistance to Kosovar refugees."
  • Operation Eagle Eye" consisted of NATO verification flights over Kosovo, the southern province of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Through this multinational peace-support operation, the Alliance was able to contribute to verification of compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1199 (Sept. 23rd 1998)." Operation Eagle Eye flights over Kosovo ceased on 24 March 1999. The Kosovo Verification Co-ordination Centre (KVCC) was part of Operation Eagle Eye.
  • Operation Joint Guardian (KFOR), authorized by the North Atlantic Council on June 10, 1999, "is a NATO contingency response aiming at ensuring full compliance with the Military Technical Agreement signed by NATO and FRY military authorities on 9 June 1999 and with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (June 10, 1999)." The web site includes background information, images, list of participating forces, and related links. Includes a link to the KFOR Online Homepage, which details the establishment of KFOR, and has news, background, press, media and contact information, photos, video and audio clips, maps and and more links to related web sites.
  • NATO Official Homepage
    The NATO homepage links to documents and briefings on Operation Joint Guardian and a calendar of daily press briefings, statements, maps and aerial views for Operation Allied Force. Also includes a link to historical overview of NATO's role in relation to the conflict and background information.

  • OSCE Mission in Kosovo
    The web site has a special section on the 2001 elections in Kosovo, covering election operations, voter information, regulatory information and election observers. The OSCE site also gives an overview of the mission and contains relevant documents, fact sheets, profiles, statements and press releases, feature stories, activities, and links to other web resources, including and OSCE documents library.

    In Russian, with links to information in four other languages, including English, the web site contains a daily news bulletin, documents, press releases (including some dealing with Kosovo), statements, briefings, and links to government agencies. Also includes search capability.

  • Economic Reconstruction and Development in South East Europe
    A joint web site of the European Commission and the World Bank created "as part of the international community's reponse to the Kosovo crisis," it contains a calendar of events/conferences, news releases, speeches and statements, documents issued by the EU, UN, IMF and IMF/WB, including the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe from June 10, 1999, links to related sites, with other sections of the web site under construction. The announcement of the launching of the joint web site describes the scope and types of information that will be covered, including assessment of the economic impacts and costs of the Kosovo crisis, reconstruction needs, and register of donor assistance.
  • Rebuilding Kosovo
    Web site of the World Bank Group provides news releases, press briefings, reports, country briefs and regional information, background reports, with key indicators and tables of comparative trends in PDF files (requires Adobe® Acrobat® Reader to view).

    The web site for AIM (Alternativna informativna mreza) describes the organization, includes articles in English from various East European centers, including Pristina. Links to related web sites and subscription by e-mail is available.
  • Arta
    An archived source in English on the situation in Kosovo (1999), on the site of the daily Koha Ditore from Pristina.
  • BBC News | Kosovo
    A comprehensive special report on Kosovo by the BBC which includes a chronology of the conflict, background, history, highlights. maps and current news. Audio and video interviews also available. Some special sections include the Interactive Fact File, interactive maps and databases providing information on country positions on NATO air strikes, military hardware, and key figures in the crisis and Kosovo-the conflict on the web, describing how the conflict is being reported on the web.
  • Common Dreams' News Center: News in Depth: the Kosovo War
    An extensive collection of links to news sources, opinion and analysis, special reports on the Kosovo crisis and organizations involved in the conflict.
  • European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI)
    The web site for this Danish-German research institute has a links database to minority issues, with links to Kosovo crisis web pages, including several documents and other full text publications. Under development is a Electronic Map of Ethnopolitical Conflict in Europe.
  • Institute for War and Peace Reporting
    "An independent publishing and media group" based in London, the web site of the IPWR contains several special reports on the conflict in the region, such as the Balkan Crisis Reports and Tribunal Update, which reports on the International War Crimes Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
  • Kosova Crisis News
    Compiled by the Eurasia Research Center, these links include numerous media and news sources, search engines, Serbian, Albanian and other organizations and government agencies.
  • Radio21
    "The first internet radio service in Albanian," this site has news stories and interviews. Includes a history and description of the station in English as well as current news. Other pages are under contruction. Requires Real Player for audio of radio programs in Albanian.
  • Radio B92
    Web site of Radio and TV B92, with breaking news from Yugoslavia in English, Serbian, Albanian and Hungarian. Includes interviews, discussions, music charts, and descriptions of various B92 projects.
  • Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL)
    The RFE/RL Newsline for Southeastern Europe, a daily report of developments in the region, contains news from Kosovo, as does the weekly REF/RL Balkan Report. The Crime and Corrruption Watch covers organized crime and terrorism in the former USSR, East Europe and the Middle East. Archives of past issues and subscription by e-mail are also available. In addition, REF/RL has a special archived section on NATO and Yugoslavia with links to news broadcasts in four languages, and a list of links to related web sites on Kosovo.
