2009 Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon

Runners can get in on all the action of the 2009 Marine Corps Historic Half marathon when registration for the second annual event, to be held on May 17 in Fredericksburg, VA, opens on January 7.

Runners from across the state and around the country can register on a first come, first served basis by clicking the link to registration on the MCHH website at marinecorpshistorichalf.com , beginning at noon eastern. The race field has been expanded to 9,000 participants, but is expected to fill up quickly.

"The great success of the inaugural event inspired the Marine Corps Marathon organization to expand the MCHH for 2009," said Rick Nealis, Director. "The race field has nearly doubled and runners are sure to love the exciting new course!"

The registration process includes accepting a waiver, completing the online form, clicking through a payment and receiving a confirmation email.

The 13.1 mile course will be held entirely within Fredericksburg city limits, beginning and ending at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center.

In conjunction with the half marathon, the MCM will present a two-day Healthy Lifestyle Expo featuring health, fitness, diet and wellness exhibitors and vendors as well as the Semper Fred 5K.

The Marine Corps Historic Half marathon will be held on May 17, 2009 in Fredericksburg, VA. Created by organizers of the Marine Corps Marathon, the MCHH follows a tradition of excellence and impeccable planning.

The MCHH is sponsored by GEICO, Marine Federal Credit Union and New Balance. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement implied.
