OTHER WEBSITES
The Hydropower
Analysis Center (HAC) was first established in the 1950’s in the then North
Pacific Division to address the huge hydropower potential of
the Pacific Northwest. It became
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Center of hydropower
expertise in 1995 and was attached
to the Northwestern Division Water Management Power Branch
until January 2008 when it was merged with
the
(HDC)
located at the Portland District.
Over the years, HAC
staff
participated in numerous hydropower analyses and economic
evaluations of projects in the US and overseas. They
often worked
closely with HAC and HDC, when a combination of technical/economic
analysis skills and facilities and turbine design
experience are needed.
