Speaker Biography: Marie Arana was vice president and senior editor for two New York publishing houses before becoming the editor of The Washington Post Book World. She is the author of "American Chica" (2001), in which she recounts her family history in the United States and Peru. It was a finalist for the PEN-Memoir Award and the National Book Award. Her latest book is "Cellophane" (Random House/Dial Press, 2006). Arana lives in Washington, D.C., and Lima, Peru.
