Alabama Hills Stewardship Public Meeting Set

The management of the Alabama Hills is the topic of a meeting being held by the community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office on Thursday, October 11th, in the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce conference room.  The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Chamber located at120 South Main Street.

The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss stewardship actions for the Alabama Hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commission director.

In November, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills.
