News ReleaseFor Release: May 16, 2007 Alabama Hills Stewardship Field Trip SetThe community of Lone Pine and the Bureau of Land Management’s Bishop Field Office will conduct a field trip to the Alabama Hills on May 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants should meet at the Beverly and Jim Rogers Film Museum parking lot in Lone Pine and will carpool to the Alabama Hills from there. The purpose of the field trip will be to begin discussing actions to implement the community-based stewardship strategy for the Alabama Hills, said Chris Langley, Inyo County Film Commission Director. In November, the BLM Central California Resource Advisory Council met in Lone Pine and expressed its support for the BLM to build upon the grass roots effort of local leaders to frame a community strategy to maintain the character of the Alabama Hills. This field trip is part of these efforts to implement the strategy.
