BLM Seeks Central California Resource Advisory Council Nominations

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking nominations to fill an unexpired term on the 12-person Central California Resource Advisory Council, a citizen’s panel which advises the BLM on the stewardship of Federal public lands.

The term expires September 30, 2007. It became vacant in January when Mariposa County Supervisor Lee Stetson left the Board of Supervisors. The vacant position is reserved for an elected official of general purpose government.

Each nomination must include the name of the nominee, work and home addresses and telephone numbers, a biographical sketch including the nominee’s work, applicable outside interests, and public service records.  The nominations must also include letters of reference from represented interests, organizations, or elected officials.  Nominees will be evaluated based on their education, training, and knowledge of the BLM, and the issues involving BLM-administered lands in the Central California region.

The BLM will accept public nominations at the Folsom Field Office through March 5, 2007. Nomination forms are available from the Folsom Field Office or from the BLM’s California State Office website at www.ca.blm.gov/news/rac.html.

The Central California RAC works with BLM managers in Folsom, Hollister, Bakersfield and Bishop, providing advice on the management of public lands in the Central California region.

For more information, please contact the Bureau of Land Management, Folsom Field Office, 63 Natoma Street, Folsom CA 95630, or call (916) 985-4474.
