View of Kohala Volcano
Photograph by J. Kauahikaua on August 26, 1994.

View north toward Kohala Volcano from the slopes of Mauna Kea. Lava flows from Mauna Kea bury parts of Kohala, making it difficult to determine the original size and shape of Kohala. Waimea is located at the base of Kohala's south flank (middle right-hand side of photograph).
