Iraqi authorities cut the handcuffs from one of the nine former Coalition Force detainees released to Iraqi authorities here Dec. 28. "We are completely capable with our security and our judicial system to take on the challenge of these detainees," said Capt. Fil Amer Abdrazq, an Iraqi Police officer in Rawah. "Like any judicial process, these men have served their sentence and are being processed through our stations before they return to the community and their families."

The Rawah government teamed up with Coalition forces to help bring medical aid to the people of Rawah who would otherwise not get it. About 70 people showed up to have their records looked over or to be examined. McCabe (furthest left), 27, an intelligence representative from Stafford, Va., with Company Level Intelligence Cell, Delta Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd LAR Bn., Regimental Combat Team 5, and other Marines with the company ensure all is well in the area during a presence patrol though western Anbar province, Iraq, July 29. Since the CLIC was established December 2007 during the unit’s mobilization, the Marines have apprehended several key drug and oil smugglers suspected of funding the insurgency. The members believe they have made an immense difference in the effectiveness of company level intelligence and are proud to be part of one of the few elements currently in operation.

Because of the stories his grandmother told of Marines, Shin had a strong desire to join the Marine Corps.
