Welcome to the
home page of the U. S. Naval Academy Chapel!
We are
celebrating the Naval Academy Chapel Centennial Renaissance. The
Renaissance is a four year time period of remembrance and
celebration reflecting the historic first hundred years of our
current Naval Academy Chapel. This is also a time for looking to the
future by refocusing the chapel community toward renewal and
expansion throughout the twenty-first century. The Chapel Centennial
Renaissance brackets itself between the centennial dates of the
setting of the original cornerstone in 1904 and its original
dedication on May 28, 1908.
The historic
Chapel at the center of the Yard – and it's landmark dome – are
symbolic of the vital role that moral and spiritual guidance plays
in the development of Midshipmen into naval officers.
The daily work
of delivering religious ministry at the Academy is accomplished by a
dedicated team of experienced active-duty Navy chaplains, Religious
Program Specialists, civilian employees, and volunteers.
While our
ministry is focused on the Brigade of Midshipmen, we welcome guests
and visitors to our public services. (For a listing of public
services, please click here.)
The Naval
Academy Chapel – is open for visitors most weekdays, except when
the Chapel is being used for weddings, funerals and memorial
services, and other special events.
Thank you for visiting our home
page!
