The Southwestern Division (SWD) RIT provides centralized headquarters support to 4 districts in the south central United States.

Nearly one-fifth of our Nation's military activities are located within Southwestern Division, covering nearly 440,000 square feet. The Division provides engineering, construction, and environmental management services for 11 Army and 12 Air Force installations. SWD also performs ordnance and explosives investigations and removals at Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS), and offers full reality services to DOD and other federal agencies.

Southwestern Division is also responsible for some 2.3 million acres of public land and water within the region. Its Civil Works program involves flood control, water supply, hydroelectric power generation, navigation, recreation, regulating wetlands, and resource protection.

The four districts in the Southwestern Division (SWD) area of responsibility are:
