The Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) RIT provides centralized headquarters support to 7 districts. These districts serve 25% of the total U.S. population who reside within their Great Lakes and Ohio River watersheds, which encompass 335,000 miles and 17 states.
LRD provides engineering and real estate services to 14 Department of Defense (DOD) installations in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. It designs and builds training ranges and other mission facilities such as barracks, family housing and schools. LRD also supports the Air Force with dormitories, laboratories, headquarters building and community buildings. The Division’s Louisville District provides facility designs for Army Reserve and Air Force throughout the United States. LRD also has a large and growing Installation Support Program, including its Environmental Design Centers in our Buffalo, Nashville, and Louisville Districts.
LRD’s Civil Works missions areas include navigation, flood and storm damage reduction, environmental restoration, emergency response, recreation, hydropower, water supply, and regulatory permits.
