Missions of the Riverside location facilities: |
The U.S. Salinity Laboratory is a National Laboratory for basic research on the chemistry, physics, and biology of salt-affected soil-plant-water systems. Its mission is to develop, through research, new knowledge and technology dedicated to the solution of problems of crop production on salt-affected lands, sustainability of irrigated agriculture, and degradation of associated surface- and ground-water resources by salts, toxic elements, pesticides and pathogens associated with animal wastes. |

The mission of the National Clonal Germplasm Repository is to collect, maintain, evaluate, and distribute pathogen free clonal germplasm of citrus, related Aurantioideas genera and dates. |
