What's New

CreativeCurriculum.net Makes Connections (and the News)
We just learned that CreativeCurriculum.net is featured in the Huntington, West Virginia, Herald-Dispatch. A January 6 article shows an Iraq-based Air Force sergeant using CreativeCurriculum.net to monitor her daughter's preschool progress, from 5,000 miles away. About her 4-year-old she says: "I saw a picture of her first day of school; it's awesome to see what she's doing and talk to her about it." Read the article on the Herald-Dispatch Web site, or view a PDF version. To learn more about the CreativeCurriculum.net assessment system, click here.
Teaching Strategies 2009 National Conference
Join us in Denver, CO, from March 31 through April 3, 2009, for "Direct From the Source: The Creative Curriculum® System." With more than 10 sessions to choose from, you'll learn new strategies for implementing The Creative Curriculum® System.

Now Available in Spanish: Math Right From the Start
This easy-to-read, beautifully illustrated booklet shows parents how they can help their children gain the mathematical thinking and skills they need. Instead of workbooks, special games, or other gimmicks, parents learn about the value of intentionally incorporating these concepts into everyday conversations and play with their child. Includes recommended reading lists for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Teaching Strategies Supports Positive Play
Teaching Strategies is pleased to support Teachers Resisting Unhealthy Children's Entertainment (TRUCE), a national group of educators deeply concerned about how children's entertainment and toys affect the play and behavior of children in our classrooms. TRUCE works to promote a positive play environment for children and to provide parents and educators with information about toys and activities that promote healthy play. Visit TruceTeachers.org to find out how you can support TRUCE and to view a PDF of their 2009-2009 Toy Action Guide.
