The Lower Columbia Community
Action Council (CAP) and Cowlitz PUD team up to offer the Warm
Neighbor Program, which assists qualified low-income families
to pay their electric bills. The program began in 2001 and
annually raises about $30,000.
PUD customers have the voluntary option to contribute by making
a payment over-and-above the amount due on their electric bill,
and designating that additional amount to the Warm Neighbor
fund. Only amounts paid in excess of the total bill can be
credited to the Warm Neighbor fund.
Fill out the designated space on your next
PUD bill with the amount you are donating along with your
PUD payment. Contact CAP at 425-3430 if you prefer to make
a direct donation to Warm Neighbor.
Cowlitz PUD forwards all Warm Neighbor funds to CAP, which
in turn uses the funds to assist qualified, low-income residential
electric users in Cowlitz County.
Electric customers seeking assistance can contact CAP at 425-3430. |
