USMAPS R-DAY

Few students expect to learn the correct way to do a push-up on their first day of school, but such will be the case for 240 cadet candidates (CC) selected to report to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) on Friday, July 18th for the annual USMAPS Reception Day, or R-Day.

Much like West Point’s own Reception Day, USMAPS R-Day is an opportunity for the parents of CCs to acquaint themselves with the mission of the Prep School, while the school breaks in new students to the demands and discipline of military life.

Information for New Cadet Candidates

Each year an information packet is sent from West Point Admissions to candidates who have been offered admission to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School.

The Information packet contains vital information to help candidates prepare to enter the Prep School. The packet also contains several required forms that must be completed and submitted prior to USMAPS Reception Day.
