National
Council for Children (Seychelles) (http://www.seychelles.net/ncc/)
"The Seychelles National Council for Children (NCC) was first appointed by presidential decree in 1980 and a special committee was set up under the auspices of UNESCO to organise activities to commemorate the "International Decade of the Child". The Council was the official body with the legal powers to protect and defend the rights of children. The National Council for Children Act which came into effect in 1981, was then revised in 1991, when the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs took over the portfolio responsibility for children. This was further amended in 1998. In 1993, NCC was re-launched as an NGO with the mandate to promote and safeguard the welfare and rights of children."
