INFORMATION MEMORANDUM IM-07-06
DATE: September 10, 2007 TO: ALL AGENCIES ADMINISTERING CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT PLANS APPROVED UNDER TITLE IV-D OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES SUBJECT: Appropriate Referrals, Requests for Location Services, Child Support Applications, and Electronic Interface between Child Welfare and Child Support Enforcement Agencies. The Children’s Bureau (CB) and the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) understand the value of sound and effective interagency communications and coordinated actions between title IV-B/IV-E (child welfare) and title IV-D (child support enforcement) agencies.
The attached joint Information Memorandum (IM) provides information to State child support enforcement and child welfare agencies on three main issues:
Interagency communication, while challenging, can reap great rewards. We hope that this Information Memorandum is helpful as you work with your child welfare counterparts.
