Web site of the Moscow branch of Memorial, a group dedicated to documenting the history of political oppression in the Soviet Union. This site is rich in resources on the purges and the Gulag. Includes names and dates of people who were killed, maps, documents related to human rights, etc. Under "contact information" there are links to other branches all over Russia. In both English and Russian.
