Why are there two different Landscapes of Local Plans?
There are two landscapes because there are two ways you can get your Medicare drug coverage.
Stand alone prescription drug plans that offer drug coverage only. You can add drug coverage to the Original Medicare plan and some Medicare Advanage and other Medicare Health Plans through a "stand alone" prescription drug plan (PDP). To see prescription drug-only plans, click here.
Medicare Advantage or other Health Plans with Prescription Drug Coverage. Or, you can get drug coverage and the rest of your Medicare coverage through a Medicare Advantage (MA) or other health plan, like an HMO or PPO, which typically provides more benefits at a significantly lower cost through a network of doctors and hospitals. To see Medicare Advantage Plans, click here.
No matter what type of plan you choose, you can choose a plan that reflects what you want in terms of cost, coverage and convenience.
Important: Please note, a dash in the "Beneficiary Drug Premium" column means that plan does not offer prescription drug coverage.
