Percent distribution of reported AIDS cases among female adults and adolescents in the Northeast (number of cases = 3,053, which includes persons of unknown race or multiple races).  Broken out by population size and race/ethnicity: In MSA >= 500,000 13.9 percent of cases are White; 58.7 percent are Black/African American; 24.9 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.6 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.2 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In MSA of 50,000 to 499,999 28.5 percent of cases are White; 42.5 percent are Black/African American; 23.5 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.6 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.0 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In nonmetropolitan areas, 61.2 percent of cases are White; 13.4 percent are Black/African American; 13.4 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.0 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.0 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native.

Broken out by population size and race/ethnicity: In MSA >= 500,000 15.5 percent of cases are White; 71.7 percent are Black/African American; 9.9 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 1.2 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.6 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In MSA of 50,000 to 499,999 36.4 percent of cases are White; 55.5 percent are Black/African American; 4.5 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 2.7 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.9 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In nonmetropolitan areas, 51.9 percent of cases are White; 28.6 percent are Black/African American; 14.3 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 3.9 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 1.3 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native.

Broken out by population size and race/ethnicity: In MSA >= 500,000 12 percent of cases are White; 77 percent are Black/African American; 9.8 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.5 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.1 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In MSA of 50,000 to 499,999 22 percent of cases are White; 70.2 percent are Black/African American; 6.9 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.4 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.1 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In nonmetropolitan areas, 26.3 percent of cases are White; 67.6 percent are Black/African American; 4.8 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.2 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 0.6 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native.

Broken out by population size and race/ethnicity: In MSA >= 500,000 23.3 percent of cases are White; 39.1 percent are Black/African American; 30.1 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 6 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 1.6 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In MSA of 50,000 to 499,999 46.3 percent of cases are White; 19.4 percent are Black/African American; 23.1 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 4.6 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 5.6 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native. In nonmetropolitan areas, 65.4 percent of cases are White; 7.7 percent are Black/African American; 15.4 percent are Hispanic/Latino; 0.0 percent are Asian/Pacific Islander; 11.5 percent are American Indian/Alaska Native.
