As the Department’s 2004-1 Implementation Plan responsible
manager, I am forwarding the enclosed Integrated Work Management
System (IWMS) Description for the Office of Health, Safety and Security (HSS).
This document includes the HSS Functions, Responsibilities, and Authorities
matrix, and also serves as the Integrated Safety Management (ISM) System
Description for HSS. While additional
effort will be needed to fully implement the HSS IWMS, as described in the enclosure, this document fulfills
Commitment 22C for HSS
in the Department’s Implementation Plan for the Board Recommendation
2004-1, Oversight of Complex, High-Hazard Nuclear Operations.
