QDR Integration Group

MC/QDR

Mission Statement

The QIG will support the QDR process by keeping HQMC leadership informed on all QDR relevant issues, coordinating HQMC assessment efforts, ensuring efficient information flow, and developing recommended Marine Corps positions for Marine Requirements Oversight Council review and approval. The QIG will be the HQMC connection to the Navy, other Services, and Officeof the Secretary of Defense (OSD) for QDR matters.

Strategy

The goal of the QDR is to identify the optimal DoD force structure and capability mix to accomplish the objectives of the National Defense Strategy with low to moderate risk. The Marine Corps will contribute to this DoD effort by recommending an achievable force and capability mix that integrates critical warfighting capabilities into the joint capabilities integration and development process. It is incumbent on the Marine Corps to highlight its warfighting capability in support of the joint warfighter. This integration effort will stimulate the wider debate on our national defense priorities and the contribution the Corps can make in achieving them. The QDR Integration Group (QIG), under the supervision of DC P&R, will coordinate and integrate the QDR-related efforts of the Marine Corps in order to develop a clear, consistent articulation of the Marine Corps' vision and concepts for success. These efforts will be closely coordinated with the Navy to ensure required aviation and shipbuilding capabilities are agreed to and executable.
