The fire department staffs three full time fire stations on the Air Force Academy . Fire Station 1 is responsible for the Community Center and the Pine Valley Housing Area. Fire Station 2 is
responsible for the Cadet Area, Douglass Valley Housing Area, the
Hospital and many small facilities spread throughout the forested areas. Fire Station 3 responds to aircraft emergencies on an incredibly busy flightline, and staffs a
structural engine that responds to emergencies in the Services and Supply area,
as well as an eight-mile stretch of interstate highway.

Auxiliary Fire Stations
The Academy fire department is responsible for staffing two additional fire stations, as the
mission dictates. The first, at the
Bullseye auxiliary airfield,
is generally staffed during daylight hours, five days a week. This
airfield is located 35 miles east of the Academy. The other fire station is situated in the
Basic Cadet Training Area. For two weeks each year, Academy firefighters
"camp" with the cadets, responding to medical emergencies and wild
fires that invariably occur as a result of aggressor training.
