Closure Report
1/5/09 – 0700 hrs
The following facilities
are closed due to flooding conditions/damages, seasonal closures, maintenance
and construction activities, low lake levels, etc:
Belton – Westcliff Park/boat ramp/dock is closed due to flood
damage and the ramp in
Belton park is closed for construction. All other facilities open.
Benbrook Lake – All parks are open;
however, all boat ramps are closed & unusable, except in Mustang Park.
Canyon Lake – Corps of Engineers Boat Ramp #3 located on the east portion of Comal Park and Corps of
Engineers Ramp #10 located in
Cranes Mill Park; Comal County Ramp
#2 at Canyon Lake Village West Subdivision; Comal County Ramp #5 at Canyon Lake Forest
Subdivision; Comal County Ramp #7
– West Canyon Lake Hills/Astro Hills Subdivision; Comal County Ramp #8 at Canyon Springs Resort
Subdivision; Comal County Ramp #22
at Canyon Lake Shores; and Comal County Ramp
#23 at Mystic Shores Subdivision are closed due to low lake level.
Lake Georgetown – Russell Park swim beach,
the lower loop of the day use area, and Group Shelters 4 and 5 are closed due
to low water conditions. All other facilities
are open at present; however, visitors should exercise caution when entering or
in the water due to the low lake levels.
Boaters should be on the lookout for visitors in the water and maintain
a safe distance.
Granger Lake – The boat ramp in Willis Creek
Park is closed due to low
water levels.
Grapevine Lake – No camping available in Murrel. The boat ramps in Meadowmere
Park, Murrell, Katie's Woods High
Water, Lakeview South, Sand Bass Point, Silver Lake
Marina, Twin Coves
Marina, Vineyards Campground, and Scott’s Landing are closed due to low water. All other facilities are open.
Lavon Lake – Little Ridge Park Peninsula - the access road was damaged
by high water and will remain closed to vehicular traffic. Day use visitors can utilize boat ramp and
picnic sites. All other facilities open.
Lewisville Lake – Oakland Park is closed for renovations. All other
facilities open.
O.C. Fisher Lake – All ramps are unusable due to low lake
levels, except for the one nearest the dam where small boats can be launched. All other facilities open.
Navarro Mills
Lake - All campgrounds are open;
however, the following sites/facilities will be closed for management reasons:
Liberty Hill
Park - sites 31 - 34, 46,
65 - 66, 75 - 80, 88 - 92, & 94 - 97
Pecan Point
Park - sites 17 - 18,
& 22 - 35, restroom near site 35 will be closed
Wolf Creek Park - sites 17 - 31, 36, 59 - 64, 69,
& 49 - 56
Proctor Lake – Copperas and Sowell
Creek Recreation areas are open at the present. Promontory Campground has a
total of 58 sites open with limited facilities and services including Tent
Sites 41-54 and Campsites 55-99. All
other facilities are closed.
Sam
Rayburn Reservoir – Rayburn
and Hanks Creek Parks
are still closed. All boat ramps are
open except for the boat ramps in Rayburn
Park and the ramp within the
campground at Hanks
Creek Park. Twin Dikes, Mill Creek, Ebenezer, Overlook, and
San Augustine Parks are open.
Stillhouse
Hollow - Boat
ramp and fishing dock area only is open at Union
Grove Park;
all of Dana Peak
Park is closed indefinitely due to
complete flood destruction of all park facilities; some trail bridges closed in
Chalk Ridge Falls. All other facilities open. Restrooms in some locations are now temporary
porta-potties.
Town
Bluff Dam, B.A. Steinhagen
Lake –
Sandy Creek Park opened on 19 November 2008 for first come-first
serve camping – reservations will begin to be accepted on 1 December. Magnolia Ridge Park
will remain closed until hazards can be corrected and facility repairs
completed as a result of Hurricane Ike. Martin Dies, Jr. State Park is
now open. Campers Cove boat ramp is open. Campers Cove camping area
will remain closed until further notice.
Waco Lake – All facilities are open
except for Peaceful Point loop in Airport Campground.
Whitney Lake - West Lofers and Cedron Creek
Parks will close on Oct 1,
2008 for the winter season.
