One of the premier institutions and sites in the field of Antarctic study; part of the Natural Environment Research Council. Directs program of science in the Antarctic and related regions, addressing key global and regional issues through research, survey and monitoring; BAS also helps to discharge the UK's international responsibilities under the Antarctic Treaty System.
Center for Astrophysical Research in Antarctica (CARA)

Investigates the origin of structure in the Universe by using the unique advantages of the Polar Plateau for astrophysics. CARA is a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center, headquartered at the University of Chicago.

Heritage Antarctica

A coalition of national Antarctic Heritage Trusts of the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Their mission is to "promote the restoration, preservation and protection of the structures, artifacts and records which reflect the history of human endeavor in Antarctica, as a means to increase understanding of the importance of the Antarctic environment and as an inspiration for future generations."

International Centre for Antarctic Information and Research (ICAIR)

Independent, non-profit organization under the auspices of the Royal Society of New Zealand. Its mission is to collect, co-ordinate, analyze, and disseminate scientific, environmental and educational information on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.

The Scott Polar Research Institute is part of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Geography in the School of Physical Sciences of the University of Cambridge.
