Program Notes

In composing Program Notes for your screening, following is basic recommended information to include:

  1. Title of film/video (original language listed first, then English translation, if applicable)
  2. Name of filmmaker(s)
  3. Year work created
  4. Format (both original format and the format you are screening if different, e.g. "Originally 35mm, screened in 16mm")
  5. Color/black and white information
  6. Sound or silent information
  7. Length
  8. Acknowledgement of print source (print courtesy of...)
  9. Preservation information, if applicable (Print preserved by XX Archive)

If you are including a brief description of the film, remember to credit the source of that description.

Finally, don't forget to thank your funders, if applicable, in your program notes: "This program was made possible with the support of X, X and X."

You may also wish to thank key collaborators and volunteers.
