Children's Bureau
Title IV-E Foster Care Eligibility Reviews
Peer Recruitment

The Children's Bureau is seeking to build a diverse, national pool of peer reviewers to participate in the title IV-E foster care eligibility reviews (on-site reviews of State child welfare agencies). Selected peer reviewers will serve as members of teams of reviewers comprising Federal and State agency staff.

Each review will last up to 1 week, and reviewers will participate in document reviews of foster care case records and licensing files; daily and/or final debriefings; and entrance and exit conferences. Peer reviewers will receive an honorarium of $200 per day for time spent onsite (up to 5 days). The Children's Bureau also will pay for peer reviewer travel and per diem costs associated with the reviews.

Upon receipt of applications, information on peer reviewer candidates' qualifications will be maintained by the IV-E Review Project and made available to the Children's Bureau Regional Office staff who select candidates to participate in Peer Reviewer Trainings. Once trained, candidates become eligible for selection by Children's Bureau Regional Office staff to participate as a peer reviewer in a review.

The Children's Bureau, with the support of the IV-E Review Project, conducts 1-day Peer Reviewer Trainings periodically throughout the year. Peer reviewers receive a $150 honorarium for participating in the training (travel and per diem costs also are covered). If you are interested in serving as a peer reviewer, please review the qualifications. If you are qualified to participate, please submit a completed Peer Reviewer Package to the IV-E Review Project.
