This letter is to inform you
that Commitment 219 of Revision 2 to the Implementation Plan (IP) for
Stabilization and Storage of Nuclear Material for the Defense Nuclear Facilities
Safety Board Recommendation 2000-1 (July
2002) has been completed.
Commitment 219 was to initiate
the neptunium stabilization activities in the HB-Line Facility at the Savannah
River Site. The first precipitation was
successfully completed on August 18, 2004, eight months ahead of the April 2005
commitment identified in the IP. Completion
of the stabilization activities are on schedule to be completed before December
2006 as specified in Commitment 220.
