The 1974 division of Cyprus into southern ("Greek") and northern ("Turkish") parts is not recognized by the United States Government, which continues to recognize the (predominantly Greek) Republic of Cyprus as the sole legitimate government for the entire island. Inclusion here of sites from or about the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus does not imply recognition by the United States or the Library of Congress.
