Helping Outreach Programs to Expand (HOPE) II
WHAT:  A Cooperative Agreement between the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center, Inc, The Hope II program will create, expand, or improve victim services through faith-based and/or community-based organizations serving underserved crime victims in high-crime urban areas.

Enhancing Public Awareness and Outreach for Victims in Underserved Communities
WHAT:  This proposal, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, seeks to raise awareness among underserved populations regarding victims’ rights and available resources for crime victims in the local community.

Action Partnerships for National Membership, Professional and Community Service Organizations
WHAT:  Sponosored by the U.S. Department of Justice, this program seeks national nonprofit professional and community service organizations that have the capacity to conduct a national scope project to promote awareness and advocacy for the rights and needs of crime victims. The project should expand the members’ knowledge and understanding of issues related to serving crime victims, and encourage members who work with crime victims to integrate this information into their daily practices.

Enhanced Training and Services to End Domestic Violence Against and Abuse of Women Later in Life Grant Program
WHAT: Providing or enhancing training and services to address elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, involving victims who are 50 years of age or older.
WHEN: A letter of intent to apply must be submitted by January 7th, 2009. Applications are due January 28th, 2009.

Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) Grant Program
WHAT: Increase the availability of civil and criminal legal assistance necessary to provide effective aid to adult and youth victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who are seeking relief in legal matters arising as a consequence of that abuse or violence.

OVC FY 2009 National Field-Generated Training, Technical Assistance, and Demonstration Projects
WHAT:  The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime, is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for funding under the “National Field- Generated Training, Technical Assistance, and Demonstration Projects” cooperative agreement solicitation. This program furthers the Department’s mission by supporting the development of national-scope training, technical assistance, and demonstration project initiatives that strengthen the capacity of victim service and ancillary service providers to serve victims or enhance providers’ ability to support victims in accessing needed services and rights to which they are entitled.

Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Assessment
WHAT: Funds for new community-based activities under ANA's Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Assessment program area. Native Language Assessment grants are used to conduct the assessment necessary to identify the current status of the Native American language(s) to be addressed.
WHO: Faith-based and community organizations are eligible to apply.

Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Immersion
WHAT: funds for new community-based activities under ANA's Native Language Preservation and Maintenance Immersion program area.  Native Language Immersion grants will only be awarded to applicants that meet the Statutory requirements for immersion projects with language nests or language survival schools in accordance with P.L. 109-394.

Standing Announcement for Unaccompanied Alien Children
WHAT: Shelter care services are provided for the period beginning when ORR accepts the child for placement and custody, and ends when the child is released, turns 18 years of age or a final disposition of the child’s immigration case results in removal of the child from the United States.

Social and Economic Development Strategies for Alaska -SEDS-AK Dec 05, 2008
WHAT: Focused on strengthening children, families and communities through community-based organizations, Tribes, and Village governments by promoting the goal of economic and social self-sufficiency for American Indians, Native Hawaiians, Alaskan Natives and other Native American Pacific Islanders, including American Samoa Natives.

Wilson/Fish Alternative Program
WHAT: Enable applicants to implement alternative projects under one of two categories in order to provide interim financial assistance, social services and case management to refugees in a manner that encourages self-sufficiency, reduces the likelihood of welfare dependency and fosters greater coordination among resettlement agencies and service providers in a community.

Family Preservation-Improving the Well-Being of Children Project Implementation
WHAT: To increase the well-being of children through family preservation activities; increase the percentage of children who are raised in a healthy environment free of child abuse and neglect; increase the percentage of youth and young adults who have the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about healthy relationships; increase the percentage of couples who are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to form and sustain healthy relationships and marriages; increase the percentage of children who are raised by two parents in a healthy family environment that is also free of domestic violence; increase the percentage of involvement by absentee parents in the lives of their children, increase public awareness in communities about the value of healthy families, relationships, marriages and responsible fatherhood; and encourage and support research on healthy families, relationships, marriages and healthy marriage education.

Public Education Efforts to Increase Solid Organ Donation
WHAT: This program supports the replication of strategies that have been identified through the research grant program of the Division of Transplantation as effective in increasing donation or strategies identified in the public health literature as being effective in modifying health behavior. The program also supports the implementation of public education and outreach efforts that are based on an established framework for successful public health outreach programs.

Research and Public Health Practice on Influenza and other respiratory infectious diseases in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South American regions
WHAT: This grant seeks a cooperative agreement with an organization that supports influenza activities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South American Andean regions.  The goals of the cooperative agreement are to strengthen capacity to detect and describe the epidemiology and disease burden associated with influenza and other respiratory diseases in selected geographic areas and to evaluate the acceptability, efficacy and effectiveness of vaccines and other interventions against respiratory diseases in countries in the regions.  This program addresses the “Healthy People 2010” focus area of immunization and infectious diseases.
