If you have any questions or concerns regarding these regulations for exporting animals or animal products to a foreign country, you should contact the APHIS-VS Area Office in the State from which the animals or products will be exported. Pakistan - Summary of Requirements The following protocols for exporting animals to Pakistan are available through the International Regulations Retrieval System (IRRS). SPECIES - MOST RECENT UPDATE Cattle - July 1987 (pdf 4kb) Horses - June 1987 (pdf 3kb) Sheep and Goats - October 1988 (pdf 4kb) For species not listed, the requirements are not known. However, exporters wanting to ship livestock or germplasm whose requirements are not listed in the IRRS, should have the interested party (importer/buyer) in the country of destination apply for an Import Permit at the appropriate ministry. This Import Permit will most likely outline the specific requirements. Other Information Pets Birds, cats, and dogs may enter Pakistan if they have an import permit. The permit is issued by the Office od Imports and Exports Control Organization at the point of entry. All applications for permits should be accompanied by a health certificate stating that the animal is free of any disease and that a rabies vaccine has been administered. Monkeys must be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate stating that the monkey has never been in a yellow fever area and has not traveled through such an area within 311 days before arrival in Pakistan. Monkeys must be branded.
