General Information Common to all Parks          

Each campsite is allowed 2 vehicles plus the sleeping unit. An Extra Vehicle Fee of $3.00 per night will be charged for each vehicle over the limit of two vehicles per site.

Limit of 8 people per site

Limit of two camping structures per site - allowed one RV plus one tent, or a total of two tents of any size.  Tents manufactured to connect to additional rooms or vestibules count as one tent so long as they remain connected to the main tent.

Day Use Annual Pass - $30.00. Exempts holder from Boat Launch and Swim Beach fees.

Boat Launch fee - no charge to registered campers or Annual Pass holders - $3 for non campers

Picnicking on Campsite - Same as Campsite Fee (maximum 8 people per site).

Camping is not allowed at the Group Shelters - Day Use only.

Golden Age/Golden Access and the American the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes entitle the cardholder to a 50% discount on the above fees (except Group Shelters).

What is a Special Event or Lake Activity Permit,

and Why Would I Need One?

A Special Event permit or Lake Activity permit is required for all group activities that are larger in scope than a typical "family camping" activity. For example, events at the Magnolia Ridge Kid's Fish Pond, weddings, birthday parties, church or school events, fishing tournaments, boat shows, concerts, charity events or large family reunions must be permitted through the Town Bluff Project Office. Having overlapping events in the same park or recreation area can lead to chaos and conflict; therefore proper scheduling of events is absolutely necessary, and for this reason obtaining the proper permit before holding an event is required. The two types of activities differ in that a Special Event usually involves more participants and impacts more recreation areas than does a Lake Activity, and may require a fee or additional requirements. A Lake Activity permit is issued for an event which typically impacts only one recreation area or campground. Remember, persons who hold events at Town Bluff, whether on or off the water, without obtaining the proper permit(s) are subject to fines and/or prohibitions on future events

Sandy Creek Park is a developed camping area located on the southeast shore of B. A. Steinhagen Lake. The park is located on County Road 155 (south of US 190), approximately 12 miles west of Jasper, Texas. The park contains 78 campsites, (6 sites with 50 amp electric and water; 64 sites with 30 amp electric and water; 6 sites without water or electric; and 2 sites with screened shelters, 30 amp electric and water), 3 boat ramps (one lane each), 3 waterborne restrooms (2 with showers), 1 vault toilet, 1 group shelter, a playground and volleyball court, 2 fishing piers, and 1 trailer dump station.
Sandy Creek Park is open year-round.    There is NO SWIM BEACH in the park.

DIRECTIONS: From Jasper, TX, travel west on US 190 10 miles to FM 777. Turn south (left) on FM 777 and travel 1.3 miles to County Road 155. Turn west (right) on County Road 155 and travel 2.5 miles. Park signs will lead to the campground entrance.

Magnolia Ridge Park is a developed camping area located on the northwest shore of B. A. Steinhagen Lake. The park is located east of FM 92 (north of US 190), approximately 12 miles east of Woodville, Texas. The park contains 41 campsites, ( 32 sites with 30 amp electric and water; 8 sites without water or electric; and 1 site with screened shelter, 30 amp electric and water), 3 boat ramps (one lane each), 2 waterborne restrooms with showers, 1 vault toilet, 1 group shelter, a playground and volleyball court, a kids’ fishing pond, and 1 trailer dump station.

The Magnolia Ridge Park Kids’ Fish Pond was developed in the mid-1990s (expanded in 2004) at the site of a large artesian spring located within the park.  The pond is designed for use by children 12 years old and younger, as well as adults who are unable to safely fish from a boat or accessible shoreline due to severe physical limitations.  Use of the pond is generally restricted to registered campers and their immediate party.

Every year Town Bluff Project hosts a Kids’ Fish Day at the pond, as well as multiple nursing home fishing events throughout the year.

Bluff View Park is located on the southwest side of B.A. Steinhagen Lake in the community of Town Bluff.  The park is a day use area that offers picnic sites with covered tables, a waterborne restroom, and a group picnic shelter.   The park offers an overlook area that allows park visitors to view the lake, outlet structure, emergency spillway and R.D. Willis Powerhouse.  The park is open year round.  The group picnic shelter is available for rent for all types of recreational events such as family reunions and birthday parties. 

DIRECTIONS:  From Woodville, TX travel east on US 190 11 miles to the intersection of FM 92 (caution light).  Turn south (right) on FM 92 and travel 5 miles to the park entrance.  A local grocery store, Harris Country Market, is across the street from the park.  The Project Office is located adjacent to the park.

USER FEES:

Group Picnic Shelter - $45.00 per day.  Reservations are accepted by calling the Project Office at 409-429-3491.

Campers Cove Park is currently closed until renovations are complete. The boat ramp and several picnic sites are available for use.

DIRECTIONS:  From Woodville, TX travel east on US 190 11 miles to the intersection of FM 92 (caution light).  Turn south (right) on FM 92 and travel approximately 2.4 miles to County Road 4130.  Turn east (left) on County Road 4130 and travel approximately 0.6 miles to the campground entrance.
