ENLISTED PME WILL BE ADDRESSED SEPARATELY.
2. SINCE THE FOUNDING OF MARINE CORPS UNIVERSITY (MCU) IN
1989 SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE IN THE QUALITY AND METHOD
OF DELIVERY OF OUR OFFICER PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION PROGRAMS.
THE UNIVERSITY CONTINUALLY ASSESSES ITS INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
THROUGH A VARIETY OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL SURVEY INSTRUMENTS. THE
UNIVERSITY IS CURRENTLY CONDUCTING A REVIEW OF ALL PME PROGRAMS AND
POLICIES. CONCURRENT WITH MCU'S INTERNAL REVIEW, STUDIES AND
ANALYSIS DIVISION (S&A), MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT COMMAND,
IS STUDYING VARIOUS ASPECTS OF MCU'S PROGRAMS. SPECIFICALLY, S&A
IS RESEARCHING THE BENEFITS AND COSTS OF RESIDENT PME SCHOOLS, THE
FACTORS AFFECTING A STUDENT'S WILLINGNESS TO ATTEND RESIDENT PME,
AND CURRICULA AT CAREER LEVEL SCHOOLS (AMPHIBIOUS WARFARE SCHOOL
(AWS) AND COMMAND AND CONTROL SYSTEMS COURSE (CCSC)). THE RESULTS
OF THE STUDY WILL HELP DIRECT THE FUTURE OF MARINE CORPS PME PROGRAMS.
3. THE STUDY REQUIRES A SURVEY OF OFFICERS FROM FIRST LIEUTENANT
THROUGH COLONEL FROM ALL MOS' AND ALL LEVELS OF PME COMPLETION TO
GATHER THEIR OPINIONS REGARDING VARIOUS ASPECTS OF MARINE CORPS
PME PROGRAMS AND POLICIES. THE SURVEY WILL BE ADMINISTERED
ON-LINE FROM 1 TO 31 MAY AT THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE:
HTTPS://MCSS.QUANTICO.USMC.MIL/SURVEYS/PMESURVEY. ALL OFFICERS,
FIRST LIEUTENANT THROUGH COLONEL, ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO VISIT
THIS WEBSITE, CLICK "YES" ON THE SECURITY DIALOG BOX THAT APPEARS,
AND FOLLOW THE LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS TO BEGIN. THE SURVEY TAKES
APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES TO COMPLETE.
4. SURVEY SOFTWARE WILL ANALYZE RESPONSE RATES, WHICH S&A WILL
PUBLISH PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THE SURVEY.
RESPONSES WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS AND WILL BE REPORTED IN AGGREGATE
ACCORDING TO PME ATTENDED, RANK, MOS, AND LEVEL OF COMMAND.
5. COMMANDERS AT ALL LEVELS ARE REQUESTED TO VIGOROUSLY SUPPORT
THIS SURVEY EFFORT. COMPREHENSIVE, HONEST SURVEY PARTICIPATION BY
ALL MARINE OFFICERS IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR ABILITY TO OFFER PME
PROGRAMS THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, THE
MARINE CORPS, AND THE INDIVIDUAL MARINE.
